When the location of the 2010 G8summit was announced, many grassroots organizers in Toronto have been cautious. The Story Store works two fold, it educates and reduces stigma for those listening to the ‘Stories' but additionally for those Storytellers taking part it supports their own personal Recovery. To measure influence on the students The Story Shop Steering Group developed a questionnaire for every scholar to fill in on completion of each session. A set of questions with solutions 1 to 5 are requested - college students circling their reply, we then put this information on to a spreadsheet which ends up in simple pie charts showing by proportion how the Story Store has impacted on them.
Time will be spent with this individual making certain that they are completely satisfied to go forward with their story, we undergo the alerts we use when in a session so that bring people together the story is relaxed and emotionally ready. A call is then made if the Story needs to carry on or take outing in another room the place they'll talk by how they're feeling.
The staff member will contact the Story over the next few days ensuring that they're emotionally feeling ok and will continue until they're pleased that our Story is again on form. We measure the affect of Story Shop on our Tales by speaking with them throughout an occasion and after we get along with new volunteers to inspire them to develop into Tales.
